SS-F Symposium: Building Bridges in the Global Scientific Community | January 20, 2025

Purpose of the Symposium STELLAR SCIENCE FOUNDATION (SS-F), in collaboration with the Chan Zuckerberg Biohub Network operated by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI), is launching the Global Science Scholars – SS-F & CZ Biohub Network Program. This program provides fellowships for early-career researchers from Japan and the United States, enabling mutual exchange for up to two years. Applications for the program officially opened on December 17, 2024 (for details, please refer to the press release). This program is a joint initiative between SS-F and the CZ Biohub Network, implemented as part of the Cabinet Secretariat’s Global Startup Campus Initiative (Note). The goal is to accelerate the creation and growth of research-based startups by supporting innovative research environments. [Announcement]Nishimasu Laboratory at The University of Tokyo Selected as the First Recipient of the SS-F Inventor Bridge Program

The Stellar Science Foundation (hereinafter referred to as "SS-F"), a general incorporated association based in Chuo-ku, Tokyo, led by Founder/ Representative Director Takanori Takebe, has launched the SS-F Inventor Bridge Program to provide financial assistance to research labs with world-class achievements to attract outstanding researchers from both Japan and abroad. As the first recipient of this program, the Nishimasu Laboratory at the University of Tokyo, led by Professor Hiroshi Nishimasu, has been selected. The lab has welcomed Dr. Sundaram Acharya, a researcher from the CSIR-Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (CSIR-IGIB), a leading research institute in genome science in India. The Nishimasu Laboratory is renowned for its groundbreaking research in structural life sciences, and with the support of this program, it aims to further accelerate its research through Dr. Acharya's contribution. [Announcement]SS-F New-Generation Program: Dr. Haruka Sasaki from Tohoku University Selected as the First Researcher

  The Stellar Science Foundation (hereinafter referred to as "SS-F") has recently launched the "SS-F New-Generation Program," a new initiative aimed at fostering young researchers who will lead the next generation. Dr. Haruka Sasaki, an Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Dentistry, Tohoku University, has been selected as the first researcher for this program. About the SS-F New-Generation Program SS-F has a vision of realizing People-Centric Science, a research ecosystem centered around people. This vision is based on the belief that in order to advance the world through the power of science, scientists need to connect with a diverse range of individuals beyond their own fields. However, the current situation presents a challenge, as researchers often have limited opportunities for meaningful dialogue across organizations and disciplines.To address this issue, the SS-F New-Generation Program provides the following support to young researchers, promoting discoveries and inventions that arise from interdisciplinary exchanges, thereby accelerating their research. [Announcement]Exhibit at the 22nd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Regenerative Medicine

Stellar Science Foundation (hereinafter referred to as "SS-F") exhibited a booth at the 22nd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Regenerative Medicine, held from March 23rd (Thursday) to 25th (Saturday), 2023, at the Kyoto International Conference Center. In addition, SS-F’s Founder/ Representative Director, Takanori Takebe, delivered a keynote speech, participated in a symposium on diversity, and took part in a special session on the practical application of next-generation regenerative medicine. The Japanese Society for Regenerative Medicine is the largest society in Japan in the field of regenerative medicine, and the annual meeting brings together over 3,000 participants from industry, government, and academia. Through presentations and the booth exhibit, we were able to share information about the establishment and vision of SS-F with many participants. [Announcement]The Annual Meeting of the Molecular Biology Society of Japan 2024

Mariko Kita, Executive Director of SS-F, will speak at the 45th Annual Meeting of the Molecular Biology Society of Japan (MBSJ) during the MBSJ Special Program on Thursday, December 1, from 11:45 am to 12:55 pm. She will present the activities of SS-F in English alongside renowned global research funding organizations such as EMBO and HFSP. There will also be an announcement of a new program aimed at the next generation.
